Regional Representatives - Ron & Rose Hatton (Northern Ontario) Ron and Rose Hatton began serving as Trans World Radio missionaries in Swaziland, Africa, in July of 1984. Initially, Ron worked in the studio and a few months later became Studio Manager with a mandate to train a national for this position. During their second term, he acted as Office Manager and again trained a national to take over this responsibility. Following this he established a new department, Program Control, and was responsible for auditioning all English programs and for the scheduling of these and all programs in other languages. His years with TWR Swaziland brought opportunities to repair mission and personal vehicles, transmitter diesel generators, tower rigging and a variety of other 'hands on' work. Prior to becoming a TWR missionary, Ron spent a number of years in the computer industry, worked as a diesel mechanic and had exposure to a variety of building trades. Rose began her service in Swaziland in the Finance Department where she handled national payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. In time she became assistant to the Human Resources Manager and later was Secretary to the Station Manager. The Hattons retired from their 18 years of service overseas and returned to Canada in June 2002, settling in Elliot Lake. In retirement, they continue to serve with TWR representing the ministry in Northern Ontario. In addition to their promoting the general ministry of TWR, Rose is also actively involved in sharing Project Hannah, TWR's ministry to women. Christian Testimony Ron was raised in a Christian home and was always involved in church. At the age of nine, Ron confessed his sin to Jesus and with childlike faith accepted Him as Saviour. At age 15, he made a further commitment during some youth meetings. However, at age 40, he realized that his spiritual life was lacking. It was then that the Holy Spirit gently brought him to the point of total dedication and commitment to the Lord. Rose's father was a pastor so Christian influence was a part of her life. She was saved at a very young age and over the years was heavily involved in church work and activities. At age 38 she told the Lord she was available for whatever He had for her to do and happily joined Ron in God's leading to Trans World Radio. The Hattons have four children and eight grandchildren.
