A Message from the President
Welcome to TWR!
My early days with TWR Canada were spent as a diesel mechanic working with a crew to maintain over twenty radio towers on the island of Bonaire. This year, TWR Canada celebrates its’ 40th anniversary. There have been a lot of changes in the technology, delivery, and response to listeners in this ministry over the years.

These changes allow us to be more efficient with our staff and finances, reach a larger audience, and form new partnerships. We’re able to combine our radio ministry with streaming radio — radio you listen to on the Internet, offering content any time anywhere. We’re no longer dependent on tapes being shipped from one location to another, crossing difficult borders and political obstacles. We send content for editing and broadcasting through Internet and satellite connections and stream content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without needing more staff to do it.
Hours of programming that used to take a whole box of cassette tapes now fit onto an SD card the size of your thumbnail that we load into audio players. This technology has been and will continue to be very useful in sensitive places. With a year’s worth of programming loaded onto a media player, we can provide meaningful spiritual content for church leaders, new believers, parents, and even children who might otherwise never hear the Gospel or grow in their faith.
It’s difficult to show you a picture of what our ministry does, the impact we have on listeners. I struggle to convey how vital the programs we produce and fund are to those who hide under the covers at night with a radio pressed to their ears.
What dollar value do I place on a life saved, on the joy of the wife whose husband heard the Gospel and stopped beating her, for the mother desperate to teach her children of eternity in a place where it’s forbidden to speak of Christ? How do I show you that? That is what TWR is about, this is our mission field. We take the Gospel into the places missionaries can’t go, we equip and build up church leaders who lack the resources for proper training, and we encourage the downtrodden and offer hope one program at a time.

As President, I have the opportunity to hear from listeners, read their letters, and see first-hand the incredible impact TWR Canada has on those who hear our programs. It’s difficult not to be discouraged by the stories of trying circumstances from abandonment, persecution, and loneliness, but these letters and listener responses are filled with hope.
Listeners reach out because they want to know more about the Gospel, to deepen their faith, and to encourage us to keep going. That still amazes me. That we who have so much are made richer by the simple and sincere words of many who the world says have no value. We can’t pluck each one from the poverty, injustice, or hardship they’re enduring—but we can offer them the hope that will keep them eternally.
We are humbled that God has allowed us to serve for 40 years in Canada. God willing, with your help, we will be able to accelerate the delivery of the Gospel this year as never before.
Thank you for your interest in speaking hope to the world.
